Boundaries 越界，2018
Boundaries was made during my residency at Tsung-Yeh Artist Village in the summer of 2018 and is currently on view at the 2018 Tainan International Foto Festival.
Just before harvest season, on the streets along privately owned orchards in Madou, Tainan, one sees fruits hanging over fences and walls that mark the border between private and public territories. According to the law, the fruits are private property so long as they remain on the trees. In Boundaries, the artist performs an intervention on photographic prints that depict “trespassing fruits” and creates a diptych that combines the notions of physical boundaries and boundaries of the photographic medium.
每年在水果漸熟待採的月份裡，臺灣南部果園周邊隨處可見果實翻牆在外的景象，令人垂涎，卻不得摘取。藝術家在臺南麻豆與鄰近地區，拍攝一系列水果跨越藩籬的照片後，再對影像加以「介入」的行為，最後製成《越界》此組雙聯畫，透過不同屬性的「踰越」，點出相對應之「界線」的意義。〈越界〉是吳孟真在2018年的夏天在總爺藝文中心駐村時所做的作品。它以雙聯畫的形式首次在2018臺南國際攝影節展出。
